Licence Types Explained

The product page for each item lists the licence channel, the number of devices or users, the term, the activation region, and the transfer rule. This page summarises the main channels used by __COMPANY_NAME__.
Common licence channels
- Retail / FPP
- A full packaged product licence, typically transferable to a new device subject to the vendor's terms. Most flexible channel.
- OEM
- Tied to the device on which it was first activated; generally not transferable to a different device.
- Volume
- Activated through a volume-licensing agreement or key-management service; details are shown on the product page.
- Academic
- Available to qualifying educational users; eligibility is set by the vendor.
- Subscription
- Valid for the term shown on the product page. Renewal is not automatic unless stated.
- Account-based / invitation
- Access is granted through a vendor account for the stated term. Recovery and ownership rules are listed on the product page.
